Had to let you all know :)

The Tv series I watch now.

Everyone should give these two series a brake and watch two or three shows before you judge them.

The first one is CHUCK. Funny and nice mix or nerds and CIA and lightly put NSA people.

:)

And of course Robin Hood and his gang :)
Wish I was in that show, must be so much fun.
Being in the nature and sets of and houses and castles and beautiful forests.
Learning how to use all these weapons and have fun while acting :)

Other wise all good here.
Was asked today to held with sets for new Icelandic TV show. Hoping to be able to do that with my other works, other wise I'm just going to leave the job I'm in now and just go and do that "gig".
I had only said yes to working in the job I'm in now until the beginning of September.
:) If someone can "hook" me up with the people how are producing Robin Hood or Chuck, Please LET ME KNOW. You all know I'm nice, hard working, ready for everything and fun :)

Later folks, have a smashing week. XYX, Ása Björg

Snowday

Snow day.
The first snow fell down from the mighty sky last Wednesday (Oct. 22ond).
When the snow has said it's hello, icy streets and colder air will follow.

After a colorful fall, trees say goodbye to all the leaves that have been their partners and cover over last spring, summer and fall, and fall a sleep like the flowers.
Their preparation has started, the mission to bloom well and say hello to the beautiful sun of spring as soon as they can.

It's a beautiful day. At least what I've seen through the window, I decided to stay inside today, even though I did not want to. I have a cold and very likely little fiver with it as well.
Now is the time to be wise and be able to go to work tomorrow.
I've been eating ginger-root, lemon, garlic, vitamin-c, sólhat = sun cap (I think) and taking long hot baths today and yesterday.

I went out last night, not regarding my health I know BUT I had already paid for the night and I felt little better and was staying inside the whole time.
Ásatrúarfélagið was holding a Blót.
Ásatrúarfélagið = group of people that belife in the gods like Odin, Týr and Frigg and more. + other people.
We where welcoming new winter yesterday.

I went with my friend Anna Katrín.

My friend Anna Katrín (with the hat)

Me just before I went out yesterday.

On the 21st of september a new member entered "the close relative" group.
Finnur Kári (Son of Lauga - one of my mothers sister) and his girlfriend had a little girl.

I'm still in Reykjavík, I think it's getting shorter the time they need me here and hope, for their sake.. and mine.
It's good if everything is getting on right track.

I've baught all X-mas presents I'm going to give exept one or two for my brother.
His birthday is the 3rd of November, so one week from Monday :)
He's going to be 16 years old.
He's getting bigger and bigger every month. He can actually throw me over his shoulders and carry me around the house. hehee

It's good for now, going to do something else.
Feel well, have a fantastic winter, stay in touch. -- Ása Björg

far in the Atlantic

Hello all, rainy and windy Saturday night at this place of the globe.
Sitting alone in Garðabær.

Have a few pics here from the funeral..

45min. before the funeral started. Many people here already, It was not enough space for them all inside so, there was a bus and people stayed in their cars as well and listened to the ceremony through the local radio.

This pic speaks for it self, my dad is standing by the far end.

The taller one is my brother :) Gunnar and by him Gummi, one of the sons of one of my fathers systers.

At the far end, other people having coffee we
covering Valdis remains.

The trip to Egypt I told you about before...
Well, I'm not aloud to go cause I didn't book any one with me, can't go by my self with all the people on the trip.
Not the answer I wanted, far away from it, but I guess it wasn't ment to happen.

I've started t learn French again, 2 times per week from 18:15 to 19:45, Mondays and Wednesdays.

I would say to people that have wanted to go and see few parts of Iceland to come now !!! the Icelandic krona have NEVER been so weak.
So, it's very expensive for us, the Icelandic folks to go and travel it's actually very good for others to come and say hi to us. the Icelandic krona is the same as 138 Euros now.
It was around 80-90 Euros when I was in France last year and then we thought it was high !.
So think about it. :)

Well I hope everything is "swell" at your end.
It would be nice to hear how the weather is at other places than Iceland.
Regard, Ása Björg

new day, new life.

Hello my few darlings. hope you are fine and happy...

I'm so NOT wanting to get back to Reykjavík this evening...
The funeral went as expected.. ok.
but I was So surprised how many people came, people had to sit in a bus out side or their cars. I of course where in the church as his nearest familly.
He's at a better place with my grandpa and grandmom, he's feeling so good now.

This weekend me and my brother have went 3 times out to get our self an icecreem :) thursday evening, friday evening and to day with our mom and dad.

I took pics at the funeral and I'm going to put few of them in here as soon as I load my pics into the computer.

I hope you are all well and blizzful
Hope to hear from you soon,
Ása Björg.
P.S. I read about a trip to egypt Friday night and less than 10.minutes later I had book my self on that trip, it's going this November.

Hear from you soon, I hope, Ása Björg

Valdi passed on last night

Howdy.
Well,
the uncle I to you about yesterday passed away last night at 12.30 am..
So, yeah.. not much to say.

I did my final documentary from Film school about him.
Think you can still see it on their home page www.kvikmyndaskoli.is and there under lokaverkefni. and I think you can also put the homepage in English. The documentary is simply called "VALDI".

But he must be happy where he is now, was always saying he missed his mom and dad.
(they died few years ago, the best grandparents, grandpa died 102 years old and grandma around 96)

I wanted to make the motion picture about him better but now he probably doesn't care at all.

you see the "kakes" infront of him? He LOVED these, with suggar.
For examples about his language:
He said Ábba in staid of Ása,
to say "now you're liing" he put one finder on his left hand under his left eye.
To say "You are not related to me" he said "Mómmi".
He said this often for fun when he thought we were...yeah.. something else and as well when he was making a joke.

Here are more pics of him, think it's taken "06

little news from the Olympics in China +...

GOOOOOOOOOODDD EVEENINNNNNG Every one.
Long time not a letter written here.

Hope everyone's ok and well.

(written down the 1st of September)
Good morning folks.
Now I'm hand writing this here at one of the hospitals in Reykjavík. It's 09:20 am, I drove Þóra to the kindergarden at 7.30.
the deal about sitting at a hospital is Valdi one of my fathers brother, they are 8 siblings, dad is the 2ond youngest and Valdi the youngest .
Valdi is rather special like all of us +
being a hunchback like you can see in the story
"the ringer in Notre Dame" I think it's called.
He has his own language and is a total dude if I can say that.
For example maybe if he meet me, a close relative on the street, he acts like he doesn't know me, it doesn't suit him at that time to do that. he's maybe talking to girls or so called cool people. heheee.
But about his condition. There isn't as much of a space for his organs in his body cause his condition. But he hasn't needed to be on a hospital often through life.
The time before this was 6 years ago.
To make a story shorter....... Now fluid is filling his lungs + other things and it's not known if he's going to make it or not, it's 50 %-50 %.

Not a good pic but well you see something ;)

(What I'm writing now.. at this moment)
But Away from that. My body is really complaining now, still ruind after the accident but I'm trying new things still, like natural doctors and more. Hoping it's going to be alright soonish.
So, I'm doing that right now and just working and working.

To more joyful things :)
Did you all know Iceland won second price in Handball at the Olympics ? :)
Second place man!! :)

Jeyyy, we're only 300.000.- but we're talanted that's no doubt.

New York Times even had a article about us the
23 of August, called "An Olympic saga continues"

I think you should deffinetly look it up :)

But it's getting rather long blog so I'm going to stop now,
promise to write more soon..

Feel well, happy and sunny until next time,
Regard and a hug, Ása Björg.
P.s. Love you mamma, pabbi, k-ið og G.T. Heyrumst fljótt.

Another weekend in action

Hello folks.
To day and night is the Icelandic culture night. Foregn artists come as well and show their work.
But yesterday evening my friend Ragga called me and said I was going out with her for around 2 hours. Cause she had found a baby sitter. She has a very young daugther, well 2 actually, one 5 years old and the other is yeah.. around 5 months old.

But beside from that, I went with her in the work outfit and we met Þórunn and went to a so called consert.
But before we went out we got a friend, hömm wat do you call it. "string of friendship" maybe?
Þórunn gave it to us, the girls that play Canasta together once in a while.

The girls, Ragga and Þórunn(the taller one)

And here you see "strings of card/friendship"

It was special ritual putting them on.

I think I have to sy any other news later on, very tired. I didn't go down town to look at the culture to day/night. Just worked all day and after that I didn't want to do anything exept stay "home" wash clothes and something like that.
I even went and baught my self a soda.. Haven't drink that since I don't know when and after that I sat down and looked at a film on TV, funny and nice comedy and in the end you are so happy for the caracters.

But well, almost can't see what I'm writing atm. so, hope you're all fine.
Regard, Ása Björg

So I hope you have a wonderful week and sunny days a head of you people, Huge smile,

Gaypride

Went to Gaypride last Saturday. And as usual wasn't it that bad :) hehe..

Here you have a few pics from the beginning of the day.

The pink guys bombing in our face.

One of our famous Icelandic gay people.
The singer Páll Óskar Hjálmtýrsson.
He's always good over these days and a nice man.

He went to the Eurovision contest once and was brilliant. Funny guy-- U can goggle him.

Army of love :) heheee... Nice idea.

One version of the Bad quieen in Sleeping beauty I guess...
or something else..
What do you think.

Write more later, have a wonderful week.

hello

Went to the gym and swimming pool this morning and other necessary things. Now I sit in a car not knowing where I’m going. Mom and dad in the front seats.
My body hasn’t been so good last 2 days, was hoping it was getting better after my grate fall. Have been OK for a while, like one ore 2 weeks before this. Falling on the head and then hips from a truck isn’t really that good I have to say. Just nerve damage and as secondary follow up other things as well.

On the 4th of August me and my dad went to a +4 hour hike everything was up hill except of course on the way down, hehee but it didn’t take any time to run down the mountain and hills before the mountain. We started from our house.
When we were resting a little a sheep came to us to see if we had something to give her. J
All the berries are getting so huge both blueberries, royal blueberries and, well we call them krækiber and they are black so we just call them blackberries here. J The royal blueberries are bigger than blueberries and they are so good, like most other berries. They grow well higher up in the mountains and ills than black and blueberries. Here is sunny as usual except this climbing day we had rather cold and cloudy day which was not bad.

Yesterday me, my brother and Máni (Icelandic 16 year old friend but lives in France now cause his mother is studying there) went golfing. They were showing me how to do the “swing”, I have never really learned golf, know the grip, most of the rules but not the swing and all the most important things. It wasn’t the easiest way to learn the “swing” with right handed set when you are left handed, but I can adapt to most things.

Hey, I know were we are going. Be right back.
Hey again. We went walking in a beautiful canyon with a waterfall in the end of it and of course cause of the waterfall, a river goes through it.
I was climbing and gathering beautiful stones. I usual put them on my grandmothers cemetery she loved beautiful stones, she used her green, old and hand maid wallet to keep the special stones in.
And I’ve been picking up the stones I think she would have liked when we go on our walks and travels.
Yeah and p.s. My dad had a "natural" shower in the waterfall before we left.
